A small exploration into low percentage chance events in video games.

Games like The World Ends With You let you use a mechanic that messes with the drop chance of rewards to essentially exchange a skill advantage for higher or guaranteed chance at random drops.

A lot of MMOs will gate a similar mechanic behind sinking time into the game, or paying real money for boosters.

In this ""game"" you can experience the seemingly pointless exploit of having a rare event happen to almost no benefit of the player. But so you're not spending umpteen hours watching numbers change there's a few time multiplier buttons at the top of the screen.
