Grayscale Screentone Visual Novel Assets

A set of stylized grayscale Visual Novel Assets from an old GameJam project.

Images made in a refreshing 16:12 aspect ratio (2048x1536px)

Set contains a number of outdoor backgrounds:

• Outdoor Cafe
• Marketplace
• Suspicious Ally
• Park

And some indoor locations:

• Hotel Room
• Police Station

Don't ask why we have a police station but not a hotel lobby

Set also contains a number of NPC close ups for dialog scenes. these include:

• Barista
• Cat
• Concierge
• Some Dude
• An Old Man
• An Old Woman
• Police Man
• Police Woman
• Lady (3 variations: Happy, Laughing, Mad)

(These assets made sense when we planned them during a jam, but might seem odd now)

Also included are the some of the above NPCs arranged to fit into the backgrounds so they can be drawn on a separate layer and fade out of view when in a conversation (cause I hate the immersion break of seeing an NPC close up and spotting their far model still in the background).

Since all these are done with a screentone effect, we've also included a full-screen screentone file and a just the side edges screentone effect.
